Security notices concerning secure communication with the Federal Gazette, the Company Register, and the Publication Platform

Version: March 2021

Security notices in general

In order to protect users of the Federal Gazette website, the Company Register, and the Publication Platform against potential security risks, the Bundesanzeiger Verlag deploys state-of-the-art security and encryption technologies so that confidential data are protected against unauthorised access when transmitted over the Internet and cannot be viewed without permission.

Today, possible threats on the Internet are:

  • Viruses and worms
Programs that can spread on their own or be sent by email and cause damage to your system
  • Trojan horses
Programs that are disguised as an actual application but unbeknownst to the user operate in the background and execute functions that often threaten security (e.g. intercepting of passwords)
  • Phishing
Seemingly serious emails or Internet addresses that are intended to prompt the user to provide access data or passwords
  • Hacker attacks
Unauthorised parties using the Internet to obtain access to your computer system
  • Man-in-the-middle attack
Unauthorised parties making independent connections with the victims and relaying messages between them, making them believe that they are talking directly to each other over a private connection, when in fact the entire conversation is controlled by the attacker. Information can be viewed and manipulated by the attacker at will.

The Bundesanzeiger Verlag has taken a number of security steps for the electronic transmission of orders. In order for these steps to be able to function smoothly, you as user should be sure that the system that you deploy is adequately protected (e.g. with antivirus programs, firewalls) so as to prevent unauthorised access to your data.
